Another Day of Shopping and Appointments

Well, I don't have any pictures to post today. I have pictures to post, but I am at my desktop computer, and I don't know how to put the chip in. Anyway, my 1st appointment was to my psyc., and that was interesting. I told her about the middle-aged spread, and she wants "us" to workout for an hour everyday starting tomorrow. You know what that meant---I needed to buy some movies and TV series. I'll be in my basement on my treadmill watching TV for an hour everyday. EVERYDAY. That seems a little absurd to me, but I did do a pinky swear. And you know what that means---I've got to do it.
Then, I went to JoAnn Fabrics to look at some fabric to hang from my ceilings. After looking through each row--and every fabric---I finally found one. It was what I was looking for. My sister says that stripes are HOT---and my new room needs to be HOT--TRENDY---&----FUN. All capitals I tell ya. This fabric is a stripe with pink, white, and black. The stripes are not too big or too small---they are perfect. I bought what they had, and I will have to order the rest of the material ---after I show it to my sister --of course. I think she will be happy with my choice.
Next, I went to Best Buy---and that is why I don't have my netbook right now. Whenever I bought it, they told me that I could upgrade the memory within 30 days for a special price. And well, it has almost been 30 days, so I had to take it in. They are doing some memory scan on it, and they said that the longer that they can do the scan the better. So, I will get it back tomorrow. Just a little inconvenience, but I think it is worth it. Anyway,---that is the story.
So, I am going to go watch some TV, and I will be sorting some crafts during the commercials. There is no point in wasting time---right? Right.
I will go for now. I will keep you updated. Until then...
This is me. This is my blog.

The Wall & Some Info

This is the way the wall looked before I did my work for today. It took all day to clear the wall, but it was worth it.

..
..
..
..
..
..

This is the wall after I was done. My husband still needs to remove the shelf.

This is how the room looks now. Like I said before, since I have to keep contorting my body to get things, I am quickly tiring of all this stuff. I am constantly removing items from the room to make it more comfortable.

I do want to keep this clear plastic storage tower. I have memorabilia, cards, plastic containers, and plastic bags. By moving these items into this unit, I was able to clear up 2 totes, a clear plastic unit with 5 or 6 compartments, a shelf on one of my bookshelves, and a large box.
I don't know if my sister will let me keep the tower, but at this time, I hope she does. It may not be pretty, but it serves a great purpose.
..
..
..
..
I have a bit of yucky news. There was an article in The Repository called Middle-aged spread. It basically stated that if you are healthy, you need to workout at least 1 hour of moderate exercise EVERYDAY (7 days a week). If you are overweight, even more exercise is called for to avoid gaining weight without eating less. I know that I have not been working out everyday. I blamed my weight gain on my meds. While some of that could be true, I need to face the fact that I am getting older (I live and view my life like I am still in my 20's). So, I am going to try to get on that treadmill 7 days a week for 1 hour (that is a long time). Just thought that I would pass the information along (even though the news is not good).
Well, I will keep you informed. Until then...

Clearing the Craft Room & Curtains?

This is what I worked on today. It was a really difficult task, but it needed to be done. I can see the floor again---how refreshing.
..
..
..
..
..
..
..
Then I tried on some curtains. The beige ones were not big enough.

Then, I tried some black material. I liked it a lot better than the cream and the height was great.
Then, I compared the 2, and it was no comparison.
Then I tried some pink material. I think I still like the black. Although, my sister says that stripes are hot right now, so maybe I'll do a little shopping.
..
Well, I'm going to go for now. I'll keep you updated. Until then...

The Room & The Table

This is what I will be working on. This is the middle of the room and I need to clear it out, so that I can move the stuff off the other wall. I need to clear that area also before I can get to the shelving units against that wall. I need to clear the shelving units and then move them to the center of the room so that I can paint that wall. After that is finished, I will get my new shelves from IKEA to line the wall. Everything will be uniform and look a lot nicer. I can't wait---things are really coming along.
This is my kitchen table again. I really need to get on top of this table---it is such a clutter area. For a while I was doing good, but as of late---not so good.
So, 2 things are on the list for today---2 big things. I am probably going to do this table first because it is in the main living quarters.
So, I will go for now, but I will keep you updated. Until then...

An End to the Maddness

So, here are the fibers. Can you believe it? I can't. I really cannot believe how many fibers I have. Then, I completed the rick rack and all of the creased ribbon (that I am going to have to iron).

..
..
..
..
I have found this to be great box to hold all of my fibers and various ribbons and rick rack.

..

..

This is what the living room looked like. Now that I have completed the task, I have cleaned up the room. It is back to normal and the whole household should be happy.
Well, I'm going to go for today. All I need to do is take everything upstairs. I did everything but 1 box. I have had enough. I will pick it back up whenever the frustration has subsided. So, I'll keep you updated. Until then...
This is me. This is my blog.

Workout (3/28)

Well, it is Sunday ---- and the last day of the challenge. It has been great blogging this challenge, and I will definitely do it again. But first, I am going to try to workout on my own. Having the blog was great for accountability, but I need to know if I can do it on my own. So, Good Luck to you and I'll be seeing you shortly.

A Piece of Cake and Some Books

I need to start off with this picture. I don't know if you can tell what it is, but it is a picture taken with my husband's phone of a piece of chocolate cake. The bizarre thing about this is: 1) I was talking about how much I wanted to eat some chocolate cake today and 2) this picture was taken at a bar (the karaoke lady's sister was celebrating a birthday and gave everyone a piece of cake (their choice white or chocolate). I couldn't believe it. I received my piece of cake --- that I wanted--- in a bar, and it was delicious. Even the icing was delicious.

Well, here is another thing that I accomplished today---I put away the raffia (the 4 boxes on top of the fibers).
So, I finished the raffia, the mesh, the burlap, the beads (on a string), the twists, the toole, and another material that just escapes me right now. Anyway, they are all finished and I have put the materials away.
I am still working on those 2 boxes. This project is just dragging on -- it seems.

Here are the books that I removed from the chrome shelving.

And as if I didn't have enough books, I bought these while I was visiting my sister. I have a thing for books---I love them. And it's not like they just sit there, I constantly go back and look through my books. But if I am completely honest, there probably are a couple of books that I could get rid of. I will go through them to see which ones will go to the Clearing My Clutter Party/Garage Sale. It will be hard, but I do need to clear my clutter. So, if I haven't looked at it within the past 2 years, I will get rid of it.
Well, I am going to go for now. I will keep you updated. I definitely did not get everything done today that I wanted to, but there is always tomorrow. Until then...

Stamps Are Done

Remember---this is what the shelves looked like. After clearing the shelves, moving the unit, and putting my stamps on the shelves---Here is what it looks like now. Such a big difference. My car is now almost empty (my stamps have been there from my visit to my sister's). I made room so that I could have my stamping/drawing books in the same place as my stamps.
This is what I did with the open space:
I put my treasures from my vacations on a display unit (that I will paint white). I also kept the clear black plastic drawers, so that I can put memorabilia and photos in them until I can scrapbook them. I don't know if my sister will go for it. She wanted the plastic drawers out of there. Well, we'll see.

I found this book while I was clearing my shelves, so I am going to take a little break and look at some pictures.
All that is left is easy stuff---sort of (no more heavy lifting). I need to finish that box of fibers, and blah, blah, blah. I want some chocolate cake---that sounds so good to me right now. Maybe I'll bake a cake or maybe not. If you know me---I do not know my way around a kitchen. I might as well make the chocolate cake batter and eat that. I am one that should not be around a stove---just kidding (well---I'm really not). Anyway, I'll let you know if I get to eat some batter today. Until then...
This is me. This is my blog.

Workout (3/27)

It's Saturday---is anyone working out today. It seems like I have lost a couple people along the way. That's ok---maybe they will jump on board the next challenge.
I am very proud of anyone who has made an effort during this challenge. It is hard to stick to something for 7 weeks, but we did it. I hope everyone has found this challenge enlightening. I know that I have. I struggled on some days---well let's face it ---some weeks, but I made it---and I'm sure you did too.
After Sunday, I will take a break from blogging about working out, but I will pick it back up again. Thank you for participating and I hope you had a good time. Good Luck.

Saturday - A Day of Work?

So this has been my work area for the past couple days. It has gotten progressively worse as time has gone by. I did my ribbons, and for a while the area looked like this, but then I cleaned up. Then it was on to my fibers. When I was doing those the area wasn't that bad. But now that I have done my raffia and 2 boxes of this and that----it is a mess. It was easy when I was doing the stuff that was already organized, but when it came to the boxes that had just fibers and ribbon in them---it got chaotic.
This is the worst part of organizing---the stragglers---and the clean-up. You see, now I have to go back into my ribbon and fiber totes and put away the rest of my stuff. That is such a hassle to me, but it needs to be done.
What I should do is clean up after everyday, then I would not have the mess that I have made. When I was staying at my sister's, I would have to clean up because the bed needed to be pulled out. I need to incorporate that type of thinking in my everyday projects. Where I get stuck is --- Well, say I am working on this box of fiber/ribbon and the day is done, but I am not. I know that I will continue the project tomorrow, so I don't clean-up. I guess if I was going this project in my craft room it wouldn't matter, but I am doing it in the living room. Not a place where you want to see ribbon and fibers draped across the couch. So, I guess this is one of my problems---I don't clean up when the day is done.

I have to put these boxes away. They need to go on the top shelf where the fibers are.
But to get there I need to go through this...

Yes, this is the state that the craft room is in currently. A state of disarray. I can walk through this path, but I can do little else.
This is what I mean when I say that I have to contort my body around the stuff in my craft room. Soon---I will be able to just take a box and start filling it with stuff to sell in my Clearing My Clutter Party/Garage Sale in May.
Whenever I took the shelves out, the stuff just went on the floor or where ever I could find room. Eventually I will be buying 5-6 shelving units to go along the wall on the left hand side. But, first I need to clear the room a bit, move the shelves that are currently on the wall away from the wall, and paint the wall. Then it will be ready for the shelves.

This is another project that I want to do today----move my book shelf into its correct location, and put my stamps on the shelves.
But you saw the area that I need to go through. It is clearly not big enough to fit this shelving unit sideways. So, more rearranging. I have to find a place for my books and the rest of the stuff on the shelves that don't belong there.
It will be a tough task, but this is what I am in store for today. I was going to start this project yesterday, but I just didn't have the energy. So, I will be starting fresh today, and hopefully I get a lot done.
So, to sum it up I have 3 projects for today:1) finish cutting the fibers and ribbon 2) put the fibers and ribbon on the correct corresponding clip 3) put the fibers and ribbon away in their correct box/tote 4) clean up the living room area 5) put the boxes of raffia, beads, etc away (on the fiber shelf) 6) clear an area large enough for the book shelf to fit through sideways 7) clear the book shelf 8) move the book shelf into it's new space 9) put my stamps on the book shelf. Wow. Did I say 3 projects---boy was I off. huh.Anyway, that is a full day. I usually don't go in order because I get tired, so I will start off by clearing the path, then I will do something easy like my fibers. Wish me luck---because I certainly do need it.
I will keep you updated. Until then...

Albums, Fibers, and More Organizing

This is one of the things that I worked on today. I emptied the shelving and then I put my fibers and things on it by color. Later on I would work on raffia that will be boxed up and put on the top shelf.

Next, I stacked these paper racks. I will attach them to the chrome shelving, so that it is more sturdy.

Here is the album rack. I am really interested to see how we do the curtains from the ceiling so that I won't have to look at the unsightly stuff.

Here are the organized strings of beads and raffia. This was the final step in organizing the items for the fiber rack.

I also continued working on my desk. It is quite a mess, but this part could be photographed.
Well, I am a bit tired, so I am going to go for now. I will keep you updated. Until then...

Paper and Punch Shelves Done

Well here they are---all done. It was difficult moving all of the paper and punches to the shelves---I still have a lot of clutter in the room. But I can say this, each time I have to contort my body in different ways to get around all the stuff I still have, it is getting me that much closer to getting rid of it. I realize how much excess I really do have. I also have soooo many products----it's crazy.
..

Here is a picture of my room taken at the door. You can see the back wall now. You can also see how much stuff I still have to do in order to get this craft room to be the place I want it to be. The couch is going to go where you see the blue bookshelf with the small plastic totes on it. Just to the right of it is the black shelving unit that is filled with material. The room is coming together---I am glad that I have moved out the items that I did, but I still have a lot of work to do. I was trying to straighten out my desk and computer---and I kept getting frustrated. There are so many wires --- it is truly ridiculous. I was going to put my printer under my desk, but the more I thought about it, I need it on my desk because I do a lot of copying and printing. I would not be able to see the buttons on the computer to do what I needed to do. So, now I have to fish those wires up to the printer. What a hassle. I also have some cords that I don't know what they go to, so I will have to wait for my husband to come home.
Since I was so frustrated, I decided to continue my work on some fibers and ribbons. I found this box of stuff and I am cutting the 15" pieces of ribbon and fibers. The fibers that I found need to be placed with their color coordinating clip and the fibers need to go in the correct small tote.
The ribbon that was in the box was mostly speciality ribbon. By that I mean that it was specific pieces wrapped around cardboard---and you know what that means---yep it need to be ironed. This ribbon will be separate from the color coordinating ribbon because I would not be able to just look at the ribbon --decide that I like it----get it from the box--- and be happy. No, I would not be happy because I would have to iron the stupid thing. Now I know----never ----ever by ribbon that has been wound around a piece of cardboard, unless of course you are in the mood to iron.
Well, I am going to go for now. I will keep you posted. Until then...
