The Beach

So, I am on vacation with my family. We drove 12 hours to our Myrtle Beach vacation destination. It was a difficult trip--a few fights--well, who said travelling with teenagers would be easy.
Yesterday, I did not even get to get into the water. I am taking a class this summer which requires me to do homework everyday.
And it is complex---at least a couple of hours. I was all finished with my homework---got my swimsuit and cover up on---and they all walked in the door. They said that they were done for the day. It was 2pm, and they began their water slide/beach adventure at 12noon. I couldn't believe it. So, we were off to get lunch/dinner.
I want to find a thrift store while I am here. Apparently, they have a flea market---that I definitely want to check out. Well, I am going to go for now. I am actually going to have a chance to get in the water. Take care.

Workout 6/6/10 - Middle-Aged Spread

Here we go. It doesn't matter if you walk around the block, walk on a treadmill, or the more advanced can jog/run, but let's get out there and do something. Lifting weights, yoga, or other videos that help you to burn some calories are always good. We can start off slow and gradually work ourselves up to where we should be.
There was an article written about the middle-aged spread. If you have heard of me talk about this before--then just ignore this part.
* Women at a healthy weight who are not dieting should do at least an hour of moderate activity a day
* Overweight women need to work out even more to avoid gaining weight without eating less
* Brisk walking, leisurely bicycling, and golfing are all examples of moderate exercise
So, I know you probably don't like the way that it sounds, but there it is. I, personally, need to be exercising more than an hour a day. But, like I said, we can gradually work up to these numbers. Because if you are not used to working out for an hour a day-- working out for more than an hour a day could really take a toll on you and your body. So, ease into it.
I'll talk to you soon.

A Room, A Marathon, and A Garage Sale

This is my living room. I cluttered it up again. Can you believe it? So, it got worse before it got better--as you can see. Slowly but surely I was cleaning the mess. I still have a little
bit to
clean up, but for the most part, I think that I did a good job.
It is still hard for me to clean up an area because it is hard for me to stay focused. And then I start looking at everything, which takes up so much time. But it looks 10x better now. Yahoooo.
So, my husband is going to run a marathon next year. He has been running every other day, which makes me feel bad that I am not exercising. So, starting today, I am going to do the workout blog again. Whenever I did it, I was more accountable, and I worked out more often. And, I do want to run/jog a marathon, I always have. My aunt and uncle completed a marathon in Pittsburgh when they were in their 50's. So, there is still hope for me. Maybe I can get to the point where I can do the marathon next year too. And I know that my sister wants to do one as well. So, there you have it - working out and training for a marathon. Fun stuff.
I have to work on cleaning out and organizing my garage for another garage sale. I have a lot of stuff to go through---it will be my summer project.
Has the "Organize Your Day" post helped you at all? It is not something that will happen overnight, but the more that you work on dividing up your day, the healthier you will feel.
Well, that's all for me for today. I hope you are doing well. I'll talk to you soon.

Still Working At It

So, I have tried to put the "Organize Your Day" theory into effect. And I am having some difficulty. From 11am to 2:30pm I worked on some homework for my Tuesday class (bible study). There is a lot more homework than I had anticipated. Then my husband came home and we talked a bit. It is now 4:30pm and the only thing that I accomplished was some homework. Now I have to fit in:
Relax, Fun, Cooking, Clean, Organize, Errands/Appts,and Exercise. I don't know how I am going to do it, but I will try. The picture above is an area that I need to clean up in my living room. When I was trying to move my craft table---it fell apart. Everything landed on the floor. So, there is my "Cleaning" job. As for the rest, we will have to see.
How is the "Organized Day" working for you? Is is helping at all? Are you finding it hard to get used to? Well, just keep at it. And remember to always put some fun into your day.
